David K. Campbell is Professor of Physics and Electrical Engineering at Boston University. Previously, he served as provost of the University (2005-2012), provost ad interim (2004-2005), and Dean of the BU College of Engineering (2000-2004).

Campbell received his bachelor's degree in physics and chemistry from Harvard in 1966, and his Ph.D. in theoretical physics and applied mathematics from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 1970. He was the founding editor of the journal Chaos, which deals with the field of nonlinear science.
